Golf tournament Race to Doña Julia 2024

Try out the “Race to Doña Julia” league, part of the social league. All tournaments are open, allowing both members and visitors to compete for each tournament prize and the final prize.

Located on the Costa del Sol, our golf league has established itself as a tradition and a must-attend event for lovers of our sport.

Shotgun starts at 9:00am.

Doña Julia Golf will create a Handicap Ranking based on results achieved in a series of tests. Only players with a valid federation license can be included in the rankings and receive the prizes and benefits derived from them.

Participants

These tournaments are reserved for amateur players with a valid federation license.

Categories

Single category.

Game Format

The tests will be played under the individual Stroke Play over 18 holes (Medal Play) or points game, Stableford, as determined by the circuit committee.

Rules of Play

The tournaments will be played according to the Rules of Golf, competition conditions, and permanent Local Rules of Doña Julia.

Placing the ball on closely mown grass is allowed in all tests.

Distance measuring devices are allowed.

If a participant arrives late to the tee after making the shot for any reason, the penalty is 2 strokes. If arriving more than 10 minutes late, they will be disqualified.

From the Competition Committee and for the smooth running of the tests, we are against slow play; for this reason, we reserve the right to not accept scorecards submitted after 4:45 hours of play.

Registrations

Registrations must be received no more than 1 day before the start of the test.

Registration Fees

The registration fee will be set annually by the Doña Julia Golf Management, applying one rate for members and another for visitors.

Maximum and Minimum Number of Participants

The maximum number of participants per tournament will be up to 88 players, strictly in order of registration. The minimum number of participants to hold each test will be 20 players.

Starting Order and Schedule

Shotgun starts at 9:00 am. The starting order will be strictly by handicap order, with players with the lowest handicap going first.

Tee Boxes

Men –

The tee boxes must be placed at the level of the fixed markers that determine the starting point of the measurement of each hole on each tee, with the shorter tees designated by yellow markers. The Committee may modify the tee boxes if deemed necessary.

Women –

The tee boxes must be placed at the level of the fixed markers that determine the starting point of the measurement of each hole on each tee, with the shorter tees designated by red markers. The Committee may modify the tee boxes if deemed necessary.

Classification of Each Test

The sum of the strokes achieved or points obtained in Stableford format, by the player in the round played, will determine the classification of the test.

Ties

In case of a tie between two or more players for any position in the classification, the computer system processing the competition results data will assign the correct position to each player based on the current golf rules as of the date of each test.

Points for the Ranking

All participants will receive 1 point for participating.

Important: To add excitement to the classification, there will be two tests that will count double points. One to be determined (likely the number 5) and the last test, following the same point distribution criteria as in the other tests.

Cancellation or Suspension

If any of the tests cannot be held, the Test Committee will determine the new date.

Minimum Participation

To qualify for the grand final prize, the player must have participated in a minimum of 5 tests.

Merit Order Prizes

The merit order prizes will be awarded at the last tournament of the year.

1. 100% discounted membership.
2. 20% discounted membership.
3. 10% discounted membership.

Note: In each test, a detail/gift will be given to the winners of each test as well as a special prize for the longest drive or closest ball.
